Guzheng Ensemble CCA

The Guzheng Ensemble CCA offers students opportunities to explore and master this traditional Chinese instrument. It aims to develop musicality, discipline, and cultural appreciation through expressive playing and ensemble collaboration. Our progressive curriculum guides members from fundamental skills such as posture, finger techniques, and basic melodies to advanced repertoire, ensemble coordination, and stage performance. Beyond musical growth, the program nurtures resilience, teamwork, and pride in cultural heritage, empowering students to build confidence and character both on and off the stage.

Learning Outcomes 

• To enhance students' musical skills, including instrumental proficiency, basic music theory and ensemble playing 

• To build confidence and stage presence through  opportunities to perform in competitions and other events 

• To  encourage discipline through  regular practice and attendance at rehearsals, teaching students the importance of commitment 

• To foster a sense of teamwork as students learn to play together, listen to one another and create music as a group.

Opportunities for Our Students

Selected students will have the opportunity to represent school and participate in: 

• Singapore Youth Festivals, SYF 

• School performances / Community performance 

• Guide and mentor juniors during training sessions

Performing with Passion and Purpose - Participation in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation provides members with the opportunity to perform on a national platform, refine their musicianship, and cultivate confidence, resilience, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

Listening, Learning, Growing - Observing professional performances encourages our members to develop critical listening skills, appreciate diverse musical interpretations, and strive for excellence in their own performances.
