Chinese Orchestra CCA

The Chinese Orchestra CCA aims to foster a deep appreciation for rich cultural heritage while developing students’ musicality and instrumental skills. Our progressive program guides members from basic note-reading and instrument techniques to playing in a harmonious, full-scale ensemble. Through collaborative rehearsals and captivating performances, students build essential life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and confidence.

Learning Outcomes 

• To equip students with essential instrumental techniques, rhythm coordination, and music-reading skills. 

• To deepen students' understanding and appreciation of traditional and contemporary Chinese music and cultural heritage. 

• To cultivate discipline, active listening, and teamwork through ensemble rehearsals, and to boost self-assurance through school and public performances.

Opportunities for Our Students

Selected students will have the opportunity to represent school and participate in: 

• Singapore Youth Festivals, SYF 

• School performances / Community performance 

• Guide and mentor juniors during training sessions  

School performances provide our members with opportunities to showcase their talents, strengthen their performance skills, and grow as confident and expressive young musicians.

Performing with Passion and Purpose

Performing with Passion and Purpose - Participation in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation provides members with the opportunity to perform on a national platform, refine their musicianship, and cultivate confidence, resilience, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

Listening, Learning, Growing - Observing professional performances encourages our members to develop critical listening skills, appreciate diverse musical interpretations, and strive for excellence in their own performances.
