Chinese Weiqi CCA

The Chinese Weiqi CCA offers students opportunities to enjoy and excel in this ancient strategy board game. It aims to develop critical thinking, patience, and concentration through engaging play and thoughtful decision-making. Our progressive curriculum guides members from learning fundamental rules, board patterns, and opening strategies to advanced tactics, competitive matches, and friendly tournaments. Beyond cognitive skills, the program cultivates lifelong values of discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship, empowering students to grow in confidence and character both on and off the board.

Learning Outcomes 

• To learn to plan ahead, analyse patterns, and make thoughtful decisions during play 

• To develop resilience and focus by managing challenges and adapting strategies through learning how to read liberties, extend liberties, basic capturing, forbidden point and special rules 

• To build character through fair play, humility in victory and graciousness in defeat.
