Department Focus
The ICT department is committed to equipping both students and teachers with essential digital literacy and technological skills in a digitally-enriched learning environment. Our focus is on three key areas:
Developing students across nine digital competencies under MOE's EdTech Masterplan 2030 so that students can gather and evaluate information critically, think and solve problems computationally, apply technology effectively, and create digital artefacts with confidence in real-world contexts.
Fostering a safe and responsible online learning environment by helping students understand online behaviour, protect themselves in the digital space, and practise responsible and ethical use of technology, including the discerning and purposeful use of AI.
Enhancing the use of e-Pedagogy to design effective tech-enabled learning experiences through collaborative professional learning amongst teachers, drawing on opportunities across the curriculum, co-curriculum and school programmes to develop students' digital competencies holistically.
Singapore Student Learning (SLS)
The Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) is an MOE learning portal that enhances teaching and learning by transforming learning experiences through purposeful use of technology. The SLS is a key enabler in supporting schools in their implementation of the EdTech Masterplan 2030.
Through the SLS, students gain greater ownership of their learning and engage in collaborative work with their peers. Aligned with the development of the 21st Century Competencies (21CC), the SLS promotes self-directed learning and teamwork, fostering a sense of student ownership.

Cyberwellness
Beyond developing digitally literate learners, a HIPS student learns to be a safe, discerning and responsible digital citizen. As technology, including AI, becomes increasingly present in everyday life, students are equipped not just with the skills to use it effectively, but also with the values and judgment to do so ethically and responsibly. This means knowing how to protect themselves online, demonstrating respect for themselves and others in digital spaces, and exercising sound decision-making when navigating the digital world safely, responsibly and discerningly.
